Summary: This US study used data from the American College Health Association National College Health Assessment from 2019 to 2023 to explore the how suicidal thoughts and behaviours among college students is linked to the interaction of autism and transgender or gender non-conforming identities (TGNC).

Their findings were consistent with other research in this area in that they showed that individuals with autism and TGNC individuals are both groups with elevated risk of suicidal thoughts and behaviours, greater than that of cisgender or non-autistic individuals, however it added new evidence in that the research suggests that identifying as both of these groups did not significantly increase rates of suicide attempts.
