Minus18 (National)

     

Minus18 events are fun, safe, and full of LGBTQIA+ pride! Dance parties, social events and our Queer Formal – they’re all a place to be yourself and make new friends. In-person and online events throughout the year.

TransFolk of WA (WA)

     

A peer support service for transgender people and their loved ones in Western Australia. They hold support groups for parents and guardians and a monthly in-person support group for Under 18s.

Freedom Centre (WA)

     

A safe space to support young people under 26 with diverse sexuality, gender, and sex. The Freedom Centre runs under a peer support model, meaning it is run for young people, by young people. They run drop-in and online sessions, workshops, and training. They also run parent support groups.

First Peoples Rainbow Mob (WA)

     

First Peoples Rainbow Mob WA host monthly dinners for Rainbow Mob in Perth.

Discharged (WA)

     

Discharged is a lived experience organisation that specialises in peer support groups for people over 18 years with personal experience of suicidal thoughts or feelings. They provide free and anonymous online and in-person support groups and host groups specific for trans and gender diverse adults run by trans facilitators.

Base Camp aGender (WA)

     

A monthly drop-in space for trans and gender diverse young people run by Perth Inner City Youth Service who are experiencing homelessness and disconnect from family. It’s a place to be with peers and be themselves in a safe and supportive space and is run by trans and gender diverse peers who are experienced and qualified support workers. The Gender Centre, Sydney (NSW)

     

The Gender Centre is committed to developing and providing services and activities, which enhance the ability of transgender, gender diverse and gender exploring people make informed choices. Offers services such as information, counselling, family support, speech pathology, housing support and school support. Check out their events calendar for details of support groups for parents, and gender diverse young people and adults.

Twenty10 (NSW)

     

Twenty10 supports people across Sydney and New South Wales who may be LGBTIQA+. They have a range of services for young people including support groups for those aged 12-25 years.

Campout (NSW)

     

A camp for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer (lLGBTIQ), and sex and/or gender diverse teens, same sex attracted, curious & questioning teens aged 13-17 in New South Wales. CAMP OUT offers the chance to attend an away-from-home camp with people who share similar experiences, offering a supportive and safe space to learn and express yourself, an opportunity for capacity building and a fun environment in which to do so.

Trans Health (SA)

     

Trans Health SA is a volunteer group that exists to provide information and support for the health needs of trans and gender diverse people in South Australia. They have information on a range of peer support groups for young people and young adults.

Shine SA Gender Wellbeing Service (SA)

     

The Gender Wellbeing Service is a free, confidential mental health service for people who are questioning their gender identity or identify as trans or gender diverse.

This service provides psychological therapies, peer support, general information and support within the metropolitan area of Adelaide. Peer support groups are for those aged 16 and over.

Rainbow Directory (SA)

     

The Rainbow Directory SA includes services, organisations, groups and activities that are for, or inclusive of, LGBTIQA+ communities.

Gender Connect Country (SA)

     

A free service for those living in country South Australia who have questions about being, or supporting those, who identify as transgender, gender diverse or gender questioning. They provide confidential support via phone or webchat from peer workers with lived experience of gender diversity.

Queerspace (VIC)

     

Queerspace Youth is a peer-led program for Queer, Trans, Intersex, Gender Diverse or questioning people aged 16-25 years old. They run monthly support groups and regular events including mental health and sexual health workshops, movie nights, art and music workshops as well as skill and capacity building activities where you can hang out and make new friends and build community.

They have mental health support workers at each event and can also assist with referrals to Queer-identified counselling and support services run through Queerspace.

(in)visible connects young queer and trans people aged 16-25 years old from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds through community workshops and events. It is a project by and for young queer and transgender people of color (QTIPOC).

Strong Brother Strong Sister Foundation (VIC)

     

Strong Brother, Strong Sister is a culturally appropriate safe place for Aboriginal young people to access and thrive. They host mentor programs, youth groups, suicide prevention support and family support and are LGBTQA+ friendly.

Transgender Victoria (VIC)

     

TGV is Victoria’s leading body for trans and gender diverse people. They work to achieve justice, equity and inclusion for the community, partners, families, friends, and allies. They provide information and referrals for gender-diverse-related services, education and awareness, and peer support for young people.

Brophy Family and Youth Services (VIC)

     

A list of online and in-person support groups in the Great South Coast region of Victoria for young people aged 12-25 of diverse sexual orientation and gender identity.

LGBTI Living Well Program (NT)

     

The LGBTI Living Well Program was designed and developed as a digital information, training, and resource program to give NT LGBTI people improved social and emotional wellbeing outcomes throughout the lifespan. Contact them to find out more about accessing peer support.

Working it Out (TAS)

     

Tasmania’s sexuality, gender and intersex support and education service. Provides in person and online support for parents and young people through support sessions and community events.

A Gender Agenda – Gender Pathways Service,  Canberra (ACT)

     

A Gender Agenda work with, and on behalf of, intersex, trans and gender diverse people, their friends, families and allies in Canberra and the surrounding region. Through education, advocacy, peer support and professional networks, they connect people to each other.

Open Doors (QLD) 

     

Open Doors Youth Service provides support to young people with diverse genders, bodies and sexualities and their families. They support young people who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Asexual, Pansexual, Sistergirl or Brotherboy (LGBTIQAP+ Sistergirl & Brotherboy) aged 12-24 across South East Queensland. Services provided include individual case management, group support, referrals to other services, and group support for families and caregivers.
